Rebecca Chabot
Rebecca Chabot is the founder of Pure Wellness Tasmania, previously known as Pure Yoga Tasmania. She holds a PhD in Ecology and a Masters in Biology, is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500 hrs, and a proud mother of three active young children.
Born in Mississippi, Rebecca began studying mindfulness, yoga, meditation and breathing in Seattle over 25 years ago. Since then, she has been teaching, studying and practicing regularly for 25 years around the world, in Australia, North America, India and Indonesia.
Rebecca’s approach is holistic and evidence-based. As a scientist, she brings an academic inquiry to the practice and is always growing with the latest research, particularly in neuroscience. Rebecca is passionate about helping you reconnect to yourself, improve your mental and physical health, and live your best life.
Rebecca practices and teaches the following practices:
Vinyasa Yoga - movement is linked with breath in a creative dynamic series of postures.
Yin Yoga - lengthen and release the deep tissues of the body with floor based stretches and long holds.
Meditation - grow still and quiet, and observe the mind.
Mindfulness - the practice of present moment awareness.
Breath work - a relaxation tool that helps divert the acute stress response and return the nervous system to its relaxed, restful state.
In addition to regular classes, Rebecca offers Private Consultations, Workplace Wellness Sessions, Conference Presentations, Yoga Sound Baths , Meditation and Yoga Retreats in Australia, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia (travel permitting). Rebecca teaches all ages from Kids' Yoga to mindfulness for teenagers to gentle stretches for seniors.
An Alumni Ambassador for lululemon athletica, Rebecca continues to train and study under world-renowned teachers; Shiva Rea, Kathryn Budig, Sean Corn, and others.
When not teaching, coaching, science editing, or with her children, Rebecca enjoys ocean swimming, surfing, running, and travelling the world.
