Privacy Policy
How this site collects, uses and protects your personal information. Last updated 30 July 2026.
Who we are
This website belongs to Pure Wellness Tasmania, the wellness practice of Dr Rebecca Chabot, offering yoga, breathwork, meditation, coaching and retreats in southern Tasmania. Rebecca is responsible for the personal information collected through this site, which is built and maintained on her behalf by 158 Lab. We handle your personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you contact us. The contact form collects your name, your email address, the kind of enquiry, and your message. We use these to reply to you, and for nothing else. You may receive a short acknowledgment email confirming your message arrived.
When you join the retreat waitlist. The waitlist form collects your name and email address so we can let you know when new retreat dates are announced. That is the only thing we use them for, and every waitlist email tells you how to opt out.
When you subscribe to the newsletter. The sign-up collects your email address, a record of the consent wording you were shown (including its version and the time), and, because we use double opt-in, a record of when you clicked the confirmation link we emailed you. You are only ever emailed the newsletter after that confirmation click. Every newsletter carries a one-click unsubscribe. Pure Wellness runs its own list, separate from Dr Rebecca Chabot’s speaker newsletter; signing up here joins this list only. If you subscribed to Rebecca’s newsletter on a previous platform, your subscription may be migrated here together with its original consent record, clearly marked as carried over rather than newly collected.
When you book a class or coaching. Weekly yoga classes and passes are booked through Acuity Scheduling, embedded on our booking pages. The details you enter there (name, email, booking details, and payment where applicable) go to Acuity under Acuity’s own privacy policy, and the scheduler only loads once you reach it on the page. Coaching bookings made through this site collect your name, email address and the details needed for the booking. Where a purchase is paid by card, payment is processed by Stripe through a secure Stripe payment page, and your card details never reach our servers.
Events and tickets.Event listings link out to Eventbrite. If you buy a ticket, that happens on Eventbrite under Eventbrite’s own privacy policy.
When you browse the site. We keep simple, privacy-friendly visit statistics. For each page view we record the page, your approximate country, your device type, and the referring site if you arrived from an external link. We do not use cookies for this and we do not store your IP address: your IP and browser are combined with a secret value and a daily-changing marker into a scrambled code that cannot be reversed and cannot be linked from one day to the next.
To protect the site from spam and abuse, our systems briefly use your IP address to limit how often forms can be submitted, and our forms use Cloudflare’s Turnstile check to tell people from bots. Your raw IP address is not written to our database.
Some content on this site loads directly from the platform that hosts it. For example, event images load from Eventbrite. When your browser fetches that content, the platform receives your IP address and browser information under its own privacy policy.
Why we collect it
- To reply when you contact us.
- To take and manage your class, coaching and retreat bookings.
- To let you know about new retreat dates, if you joined the waitlist.
- To send you the newsletter you asked for, if you subscribed and confirmed.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To protect the site from spam, abuse and fraud.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.
Cookies
This site does not set tracking cookies, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. Acuity’s embedded scheduler, Stripe’s payment pages and Eventbrite’s ticket pages may set their own cookies to run their services securely; those are governed by each provider’s own privacy policy.
Where your information is stored
Form submissions, booking records and newsletter records are stored in a database hosted in Sydney, Australia. The website itself is served through international infrastructure providers, which means some technical processing may take place on servers outside Australia. Wherever your information is handled, we take reasonable steps to keep it secure.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the providers needed to run the site, each under their own privacy terms and only for the purpose we engage them for:
- Supabase hosts the database, in Sydney, where enquiry, booking and newsletter records are stored.
- Vercel hosts and serves the website.
- Resend sends our transactional email (enquiry acknowledgments, newsletter confirmation emails and the newsletter itself).
- Cloudflare provides DNS for the site and the anti-spam check on our forms; when you interact with a form it receives your IP address and browser information to tell a real person from an automated bot.
- Acuity Scheduling runs class and pass bookings through its embedded scheduler.
- Stripe processes card payments on its own secure pages; card details never reach our servers.
- Eventbrite runs event ticketing on its own platform when you follow an event link, and serves the event images shown on this site.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as we need it for the reason you gave it to us, and for any period required by law. Booking and payment records may need to be kept for tax and accounting purposes. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, we keep a minimal suppression record so we do not email you again. When we no longer need your information, we remove it.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us through the contact page or at rebecca@purewellnesstasmania.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. Where the law requires us to keep certain records (for example payment records), we may not be able to delete those.
If you have a concern
Tell us first and we will do our best to put it right. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
